Tim Wallace, Associate Professor, an applied, cultural anthropologist, is interested in issues of sustainable development and tourism in rural areas. His most recent research has been in Guatemala working on the impacts of tourism on Mayan communities around Lake Atitlán. In 2005, he published an edited monograph, Tourism and Applied Anthropologists. His research includes work in Guatemala, Costa Rica, Peru, Ecuador, Japan, Hungary, Madagascar, Mozambique, Togo and also North Carolina.
