Bioarchaeology is the study of human skeletal remains from archaeological settings. The goal of bioarchaeology is to better understand past human lifeways through analysis of burials, including both the biological and archaeological components. Bioarchaeologists conduct research in a number of areas, including nutrition and health, prehistoric diet, paleopathology, mortuary analysis, paleodemography, dental anthropology, and occupational/behavioral analysis.
