(Yash Chopra) Starring Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta, Rani Mukherjee.  Pakistani Zara and Indian Veer meet and fall in love, but the border and family opposition stand in the way.

(Deepa Mehta) Starring Aamir Khan, Nandita Das.   A young girl growing up in Lahore witnesses the upheaval of Partition.  Based on the semi-autobiographical novel “Cracking India” by Bapsi Sidhwa.

Train to Pakistan

(Pamela Rooks) Based on the novel by Khushwant Singh.  A small Panjabi village and the refugee trains running through it are threatened by violence as Partition approaches.
