| The department
offers minors in sociology and anthropology, allowing students with various
majors from the entire campus to learn about these disciplines. A 2.0
GPA is required in the minor coursework. No course taken for S/U credit
will count toward the minor.
A minor in sociology consists of 16 hours including SOC 202, SOC 300, two courses at the 300 level, and a final course at the 400 level. A minor in anthropology focuses on the comparative study of human beings. A flexible selection of courses (15 credit hours) includes offerings from the anthropological subdisciplines of cultural anthropology, physical anthropology, archaeology, linguistics, geographically specific courses, and topical courses. A minor in criminology consists of 16 hours including SOC 202, SOC 206, SOC 306, SOC 300, and one of the following 400-level courses: SOC 425, 427, 428, 429, 430, 445.
